Why I can now buy a Canon S90

This camera has danced in front my face ever since it was released late last year. Because I ride nearly everywhere, I am left either without a camera or a really bad camera (iphone). So I am in the market for a point and shoot. And thanks to photos like this, this, and this, (and maybe that nifty lens control ring) I am rather impressed by this little camera. What I am not impressed by however, is the price: $400 on Amazon. I therefore would need a compelling reason to shell out that much cash.

Enter compelling reason.
I need to send my Canon 5D in for a sensor cleaning. I attempted to clean the sensor as best I could with a hand pump, but significant, annoying specks still appear in photos.  So obviously, I can’t be left without a camera to use while my 5D is being serviced.  The S90 will serve as the replacement until the 5D comes back, (nevermind the fact that I have a perfectly functioning Canon 300D) at which time the S90 would be “relegated” to the always with me camera. I can’t argue with that! Now… get back in my gold box S90!
